Dress Code

Most Hinde House school uniform can be ordered through school. All uniform, except tops with logos, can be bought at any supermarket and many high street shops.

All students from Foundation Stage 1 (nursery) upwards are expected to wear school uniform comprising:

Boys

  • White, royal blue or black polo shirt with or without logo.
  • White shirt
  • Royal blue sweat shirt with logo.
  • Royal blue hooded sweatshirt with logo.
  • Black V neck knitted jumper with or with out logo.
  • Black or grey ‘tailored’ trousers or shorts (no track suits, no jeans, no combat trousers, no football shorts).
  • Black plain jogging bottoms with no logos or branding
  • Black shoes, boots, or plain black trainers with black or royal blue laces (not multi coloured).

Girls

  • White ,royal blue or black polo shirt with or without logo.
  • White blouse.
  • Royal blue sweatshirt with logo.
  • Royal blue hooded sweatshirt with logo.
  • Black V neck knitted jumper or cardigan with or with out logo.
  • Black or grey trousers (no track suits, no jeans, no combat trousers) or black or grey skirt or pinafore if preferred.
  • Flat black shoes or boots, or plain black trainers with black or royal blue laces (not multi coloured). No sandals.
  • Black, white tights or socks not multi-coloured.

General points

  • We do also accept fleece jackets, gilets or waistcoats and cardigans in royal blue.
  • In warm weather girls can also wear blue/white check dresses and both boys and girls can wear plain black or grey shorts.
  • Muslim girls may wear black shalwar kamees but a school sweat shirt and polo shirt must also be worn.
  • Headscarves, if worn, should be plain black, blue or white.
  • Pupils must wear both a sweatshirt and polo shirt, not one without the other.

Pupils are expected to wear school uniform/school uniform colours regardless of ethnicity or religion.

Note: when sunny, pupils who come to school without their shoulders covered will not be allowed outside. (see our Sun Safety Policy.)

Parents/carers will be contacted in cases when pupils are not wearing the correct uniform.

PE

• On PE days, pupils are expected to come in the regular school uniform and change into their PE kit.

• Pupils are expected to wear sportswear for PE lessons, i.e. t-shirt (in house colours if preferred) and shorts (for inside PE) and shorts or tracksuit type trousers (for outside PE).

 Note: - Black polo shirt with logo is our secondary PE option, our Year 6 children can wear this if they prefer.

• In cold weather, sweatshirts/tracksuits can be worn.

• Training shoes must be worn for lessons outside.

• Long sleeve tops and leggings may be worn on modesty grounds.

Please note that PE is part of the curriculum and all children must participate. Not having a PE kit is not an excuse for missing the PE lesson: children are expected to take part in whatever clothing they have on (if suitable for PE) or as a last resort in vest and pants.
